Though added to the Jumpmanโ€™s lexicon many, many years ago โ€” as MJ himself was a Tar Heel โ€” โ€œUniversity Blueโ€ has only recently become a ubiquitous part of the brandโ€™s catalog. And for 2022, the colorway is dressing the Air Jordan 1 Low OG, this time in a color blocking reminiscent of 2019โ€™s โ€œObsidian.โ€

Similar to the above-mentioned make-up, this pair relegates its color to the backseat. And thanks to the navy used along the forward paneling, Swoosh, and lining, the similarities are even more striking, though the base does opt for white instead of โ€œSail.โ€ The tongue and outsole, too, are distinct in their coloring, as theyโ€™re clad in the dark cool tone and โ€œUniversity Blue,โ€ respectively. Further use of the UNC signature also appears across the heel tab, counter, and โ€œNike Airโ€ branding.

For a closer look at this UNC-inspired Air Jordan 1 Low, check out the leaked imagery below. Currently, no release date has been confirmed, but we should learn more within the next few months.
